Elliot's Expose

"I think people ought to realize that stuff like this goes on every day…The rest of you are all part of it-because you let it go on and maybe you think it's funny, or you think it only happens to geeky outsiders and kids who are smaller or fatter or skinnier or don't have so many friends or so much money as you. So tell me-what happens when you don't have so many friends one day, or you don't have so much money, or something bad happens to you?" (91-92) (Elliot)

Blog Question:
What is the message is he trying to get across to his classmates? (6pts)

Elliot is trying to tell poeple to realize what is really happening in the school, like people are really getting bullied. For instance, Elliot got bullied badly when the jock rots threw him "Accidently" into the river on page 59 and Catalina also got bullied by Bethany a lot in the book by feelings instead of physical. He is also saying that there is different kind of bullyings and to think of yourself, like "What if I got bullied?" or "If I had no friends and I'm the only victim, a lot of bad stuff could happen!". So his main point is that bullying is the largest problem in the school and a lot of people hasn't realised that and doesn't care about it at all.

You could explain more about the question and try to use better words for the word "feelings".

I think your response was detailed. In your response you said "Elliot was bullied badly when the jock Rots threw him". I think it would be better if you could use another word other than bullied badly. I think you could use better word choice in your response. Other than that good work.

i really agree with what you are saying and think that its true that elliot is trying to get the piont across that people are being rude and are bullying many kids and that it may become serious.
